About The Band

With musicians hailing from Brazil, Australia, New Zealand,France and the UK, Soul Fiesta really are one of the most cosmopolitan party bands on the scene. Having each made a name for themselves in their native countries the band members settled in London. Through their shared love of live music, friendships blossomed. Identifying the need for a soul, funk and disco band with an authentic Latin flavour Soul Fiesta was born.

A Winning Formula

With a winning formula and live musicians of the highest calibre Soul Fiesta immediately found success with a string of high profile corporate events, weddings and exclusive private parties, a highlight being a performance for HRH Prince Charles and Princess Stephanie of Monaco at the Palace of Leopoldskron in Salzburg, Austria. A monthly residency at Guanabara club in London ensures the band continues to regularly play their unique mix of soul, funk disco and Latin creating the carnival atmosphere they have built their enviable reputation on.

The Soul Fiesta experience is available as a 4 piece to a 10 piece band. Each Soul Fiesta show is tailored to the client’s needs and event brief. So whether you’re looking for an entire show of Soul, Funk and Disco tunes or a heady mix of Latin American Samba, Salsa and Merengue or a carefully balanced mix of the two, Soul Fiesta can deliver.

 

Key Members of the Band

Kita Steuer

Bass / vocals / arranger / producer

Kita was born and grew up in the vibrant city of Sao Paulo in Brazil. Becoming a professional musician was always the plan. So in 1991 he co-founded Banda Cara-de-Pau, a nine-piece soul and R&B band mainly playing Blues Brothers material. As band leader he played the role of Elwood Blues. The band’s highly energetic and humorous performances saw their fanbase swell. Sell out live performances followed and the band were regularly asked to appear on Brazilian national TV shows. One of the bands highlights was opening for Ray Charles at Ibirapuera Park in Sao Paulo for in front of 15000. Since the summer of 2002 Kita Steuer has been living in London working as a full-time professional musician and songwriter. When not working with Soul Fiesta Kita plays with a variety of other bands who have taken him to festivals and venues all over Europe, most recently Montreux Jazz Festival. As Musical Director of Soul Fiesta, Kita spends much of his time working on the bands arrangements and continually looking to improve all aspects of the band to please the crowds and clients.

Charlie Lewis

Soul Fiesta’s Senior Booking consultant Charlie studied music at one of Brazil’s most prestigious music schools. Since returning to his native city of London in 1999 he has become a regular on London’s thriving live music scene. Charlie’s professional playing career spans the last 15 years with stints in various soul, funk and Latin bands throughout the UK. As another principle bandleader of Soul Fiesta Charlie now spends time away from the band as a session musician for various recording artists and continues to play with various bands working at many of the UKs most prestigious venues including The Jazz Cafe and the National Theatre.
